    RTK GPS is not the thing that sits on a tripod with the laser level that is used on construction sites, lol. RTK GPS is surely not antiquated. The propellor ground control points uses single frequency L1. A survey grade RTK GPS unit uses dual frequency GPS (L1and L2) and can correct for tropospheric delays. Dual frequency GPS is more accurate and more expensive. With survey grade RTK GPS, you can export an ASCII file with coordinates that you can import directly into whatever software you're using. Propellor GCPs can only be used for one thing, RTK GPS can be used for sooooo much more.
