How to Hand Catch Yuneec Q500 4K and Typhoon H Drones SAFELY – Yuneec Quick Tip
How to Hand Catch Yuneec Q500 4K and Typhoon H Drones SAFELY
Normally the best option for ending your Q500 or Typhoon H flight is to land the aircraft on the ground. Sometimes this isn’t possible; tall grass, mud and water or uneven terrain could cause your aircraft to crash while landing. In these instances your best option is to hand-catch your drone, meaning you grab the drone while it’s in the air and shut off the motors before lowering it to the ground.
In this Yuneec quick tip episode, I’ll demonstrate how to hand catch the Yuneec Q500 and the Typhoon H drone safely. This is a good skill to practice in optimal flight situations so you’ll be ready to hand-catch the drone when you really need to. This is an excellent skill for people to learn as they learn how to fly the Yuneec Q500 or Typhoon H.
This episode applies to all Yuneec Q500 and Typhoon H models.

Nice video Jeff….i own both the Q and the H. I think i do hand catching 99% of my flights. Somehow i feel much more safe doing that, than landing on ground. My fear of tipping over and having damage on gimbal and camera scares me big time, so i found hand catching is safest way, but always being super cautious while near it. Keep up the good work buddy, check out my videos if you get the time, Happy Flying always
What timing im just going to fly and will record it so see if your advice works
Superb vid, left a like & a sub °⌣°
VERY NICE SIER JEFF will try
Nice vid Jeff. Hand catching can help avoid many landing issues & upsets. People trying it for the first time may wish to wear eye protection (either prescription glasses or sunglasses).

OK – it's all easy. But how do you catch drone from moving boat or a cruise ship? You can't call it home of course.
I practiced this technique and it is a good idea when you can't land. I tried looking at your videos and I'm trying to understand different led patterns since the guide is incorrect. Also does the ST10+ also have visual on important things besides the battery level and home location. It's just hard to see the LED statues when flying in full sun. What are the most important things to always check while flying. Thanks
Great tip Jeff
Thanks Jeff your videos are excellent👍
Jeff – first – thanks for this. Second I had one question.. On the Typhoon H, wouldn't this have to be Angle mode with OBS turned off for this to work? Seems that if not the drone will keep moving away from me because of the smart circle and geo fence.
Thank you Sir, you been teaching me a lot, I just want to know if I do the hand catch, do I have to be on angle mode?
Good morning from GREECE sir jeff I hope you are well please if you can tell me what setting I use for night thanks to yuneec g500 4k so you can make editing without having problem with pixels
